Position: Nurse TechnicianDepartment: Mercy Rehab Hospital - Chesterfield Hours / Shift: PRN - TBDOverview:The Nurse Tech role is designed for current nursing students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing. As a Nurse Tech, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Mercy nurses to gain real life experience on a hospital unit while still in nursing school! Job Duties:Obtain vital signs and document into the electronic medical • records systemAssist with patient care needs including, meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, patientmobility, and transport.•• Phlebotomy/blood cultures• Enteral Feeding• Wound care• IV/Foley removal• Trach care/suctioning• Culture collection• Ostomy application and care• Wound vacs• NG tube management and removalQualifications:Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. and enrolled in a board-certified nursingprogram.Prior to employment, the Nurse Tech shall provide student transcripts indicatingthey have completed Fundamentals of Nursing from an accredited school of nursingand provide competency skills list from their learning institution.---The Nurse Tech must remain in good standing with their school of nursing while inthis role.
